“Enabling Successful Project Outcomes through Diversity"
with Guest Speaker Tunde Deru
Topic Description -We live in an era where it is expected to have diversity in the workplace, in the classroom et al. The intent in most cases is simple - ensure minorities are included in the mix and/or project a fair demographic representation. This political approach only limits the potential diversity can bring to a group.
As the world shifts towards a global village, there is no escaping diversity for project teams. More and more projects teams will consist of people with diverse backgrounds, race, culture and perspectives. Project managers should resist playing the “political” diversity game but rather focus on exploiting the potential diversity brings to the table. Developing this exploitation skill will position project managers for opportunities to: lead global project teams; create environments that allows for disruptive or out-of-the box thinking; and develop fail proof project execution strategies.
In this presentation, I will talk about the 4 “Ds”; Difference; Dividend; Draw; Deliver I believe will aid project managers in exploiting diversity for successful project outcomes.
